SITE REVIEWS
iBelieve
This site is fairly new, but wow!! Looks hot, great layout, and has substantive content. It offers insightful and original articles on a wide range of topics -- mostly Christian life-oriented. They tend to be very practical -- for husbands, wives, youth, and families. The content seems to be updated almost daily and so you'll often find something of interest to you. Has a nice community too with chat rooms and newsletters. They have a store that is integrated within many areas and is not too annoying. Definitely a place to go...and go a lot! Highly recommended!!
[We are sad to report that iBelieve...possibly the best Christian portal yet on the web went bankrupt and shutdown. Hopefully there's a lesson to learn here.]

Christians Online: A Christ-Center Community Web Site
This popular site offers a wide variety of links organized in a very easy-to-use manner. Quite a variety of stuff. Has a top 30 site listing which offers some great Christian website to check out. Originating here is an ICQ chat (which other websites link to) which usually has at least 20-30 people on it. Has some unique aspects like postcards, arcade games, and a prayer board. The site is lacking in original material and it does not seem up-to-date. It does not have much original material and the site news updates every month or so. Highly recommend to visit.

Global Christian Network: GCN Christian Friend Community
Going here, you will find one of the largest Christian websites that many people do not know but it is quite a large community. You'll find a strong chat system and lots of Christian-oriented newsletters that you can subscribe too. They offer a popular singles system that seems really good. Their directory of Christian websites is huge -- over 17,000 strong. You can also create your own home page. SInce they are such a big site, they feature talk shows with Christian celebrities. And you'll find some great sister sites like CTestimony (Christian testimonies) and PrayerWeb (receive prayer or pray for others). While the look is good, it is nothing outstanding. The site tends to focus too much on itself, and is lacking news or web search or much original material. If you're looking for a community though, this is the place!

CrossDaily
First look (and second look) at this site and you might be overwhelmed. So much content and much of it duplicated on the main page. It does have a good search engine and web directory of Christian sites. You will also find many of the links on the front page going to subsections of the site -- and that is one of this sites greatest features: lots of pretty good quality places. Like singles, friendship, cartoon, chat, shopping, etc. It's ranking of popular pages seems to be broken (with the top site always averaging over 330 hits each day?) and not as many useful or interesting links as COnline provides in their Top 30. This place is also lacking in general community, although the singles might have some. You might find annoying all the ads and sponsors fill nearly half of the space used on the front page. Nice touches of the site include offering reviews of 3 sites per week on different subjects (ie. singles, family websites, bible...). Now, if they just organized this better and made it look cool, then this could be a great Christian website.

ChristSites.com:
This is a standard Christian directory site that looks really sharp and adds some twists and original material to stand out from the pack. For one, it rates sites (like CyberXian) with gold stars from 1 to 5. But many are highly rated and if you look at the comments, it is not very helpful in determining if it is a good site or what they really think. You will find a good search engine here too for searching the directory. The site shows promise with the innovative Jesus Project that tries to gather city info, concerts, events, etc. for many cities across world. This seems rather new and needs more content. We recommend this for a search site and one to definitely stop by if you are looking for content.

FaithStart: the premier web guide
This site kind of looks like Yahoo -- very plain text look with minimal graphics. And unlike most sites reviewed here, this covers secular and Christian content. The one thing here that is really nice is that instead of lists and lists of different subjects, you will find just one click for most topics. They have picked the best website for nearly 100 subjects. This could be good or bad depending on your perspective; they offer a search engine if you really want to find other topics. Also, features weather, stocks, news, business news, and sports news which makes this a great starting page.
If you dig deeper in the site, you will find lots of great faith aids, answers to questions, and even advice. From resources on equipping you in your faith, to how to grow to resources about cult/religions to suicide/depression to the practical like job search or dating. So this is easy to use, has a lot of good material and resources. But no community or slick graphics.

CyberGrace Network
This site has developed over the years with more content and features. The main page has a decent layout, but you may find it lacking in diversity and content unless you are into web design or hosting. Much of the content though goes off site too. .Once you enter their directory, you'll find a well organized Christian links and the ability to search it easily. Features of the site include a chat system, a good singles program, an active prayer center, and shopping. However, for all that's good, the site is not easy to navigate. You'll have to click on dots instead of links in the main page. It seems like a first generation website that could use an overhaul in the look and layout. You may be annoyed by the abundance of advertising and income opportunities...unless of course they interest you, then click away.
